The ReSet program is delivered by a Consortium led by Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, with Waalitj Foundation and Centrecare Inc. ReSet supports and provides case management for individuals in the transition from prison to the community. The service is targeted at men and women who have been assessed by the Department of Justice as being at medium to high risk of re-offending.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position, in consultation with the Coordinator and Program Manager, ensures the delivery of screening, assessment and case management as part of the throughcare model for individuals in custody. You will need to assess your suitability against these criteria:
Possess an understanding of Aboriginal culture, protocols and boundaries and experience working with Aboriginal families in contact with the justice system, or a related field.
Ability to build relationships and connections with vulnerable individuals with varying offending backgrounds providing culturally appropriate, respectful, sensitive and secure pre and post release support.
Previous case management experience or similar.
To be able to work in collaboration with the Department of Justice, and internal and external stakeholders within the custodial environment and in the community.
An ability to work within a custodial environment.
To support individuals to engage with and fully participate in support programs that will assist them in achieving positive outcomes.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Strong administrative skills and the ability to write clear and concise case notes, whilst competing with changing demands.
Strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements, and reporting procedures.
Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behaviour.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Clinical and counselling experience in an adult justice reintegration support setting, and a qualification in a relevant area at Diploma level or higher.
Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
Understanding and knowledge of working with Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islander families and children in contact with the justice system, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to be part of a team in order to deliver a quality service and achieve client outcomes.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
WA Working with Children Card
National Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)
WA Drivers Licence
Department of Justice Screening (we'll help successful candidates apply)
