About the Role
We’re looking for passionate and detail-oriented electrical professionals to join our Metro team as Electrical and ITS Inspectors. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the seamless operation and compliance of electrical and ITS infrastructure across Western Australia.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the inspection and auditing of Electrical and ITS maintenance and capital works, ensuring strict adherence to compliance standards, contractual obligations, and Main Roads’ specifications.
- Use your expertise to inspect the delivery of infrastructure via the Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery (OMTID), the State-wide Electrical Contract (SWEC), and 'Work by Others.'
- Implement comprehensive audit and inspection schedules to maintain electrical and ITS assets at the highest standards.
- Prepare detailed inspection and audit reports to document compliance with Main Roads standards.
- Offer specialized technical support to Project and Contract Managers across IDD and regional teams, ensuring that all electrical and ITS projects align with Main Roads’ specifications and contractual requirements.
There are two exciting positions available, based at our Jandakot Depot. While the role is primarily based locally, occasional travel to various parts of Western Australia is required.

About You
You’ll need an unrestricted electrical worker's licence (endorsed 'electrician') and proven experience in electrical control systems and/or ITS to be considered for this position. You’ll also need a solid understanding of WA Electrical Requirements (WAER), AS/NZ 3000, 3017, and 3019.
Furthermore, to succeed in this role, you’ll demonstrate strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders are essential, as well as excellent technical report writing.
