The Role
Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CII) supports the enhancement of the Defence health capability to uplift quality of care, improve outcomes for patients and to meet the strategic direction as outlined in the National Defence Strategy.
Continuous improvement and innovation initiatives within Joint Health Command (JHC) optimise healthcare services provided to the members of the Australian Defence Force and contribute to the enhancement of health as a capability.
The CII Project Manager will lead/manage projects within JHC and support the implementation of the JHC Continuous Improvement and Innovation Framework.
There are many exciting initiatives within JHC that the CII Project Manager may be involved with:
- Development of JHC Strategic Benefits (Key Performance Indicators);
- Defence Health System Assurance Framework Implementation;
- Implementation of initiatives that will address the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide ;
- Patient Experience Survey Uplift;
- Implementation of priority improvement initiatives approved by the Defence Health Strategic Board.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. The Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CII) Team within Joint Health Command (JHC) promotes a continuous improvement culture that challenges and improves the productivity, efficiency and resilience of the Defence Health System.
We are a collaborative team that empowers multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the best health outcomes for Defence.
CII enables JHC to deliver its objectives by:
- Managing continuous improvement health projects;
- Leading the implementation of JHC Continuous Improvement and Innovation Framework;
- Providing centre for excellence support for small and medium-scale continuous improvement activities;
- Facilitating masterclasses to upskill JHC workforce with the use of CII tools and project management methodologies;
- Supporting other areas within JHC manage projects by providing project management capability
