We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef Manager to join our culinary team in Ballarat at our large food manufacturer client site. As the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and leading a team of culinary professionals.
This role is Monday to Friday 6.30-2.00pm, salary offered is $85,000 + Super.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement innovative menu items
Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control
Maintain inventory and manage food costs to ensure profitability
Proven track record of menu planning, food cost management, and inventory control
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall customer satisfaction
Create and manage kitchen budgets, including labor and food costs
Foster a positive and productive work environment for all kitchen staff
Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings
Handle customer feedback and resolve any food-related issues promptly
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office suite
To be successful, you’ll need:
Australian Citizenship or, Full Australian working rights
Trade Certificate, Certificate III or 1V in Commercial Cookery
A SafeCheck advanced food safety Supervisor certification or HACCP certification
