About us and the role

At Scott Smith Orthodontics we are a close-knit team of smile enthusiasts who are passionate about creating confident, radiant smiles for our patients. Our specialist orthodontic practice boasts a modern, progressive approach and has been providing orthodontic care in Launceston for over 16 years.

We are currently searching for an accomplished Business Manager to lead our team. Reporting to the Practice Principal this role is responsible for the day-to-day function of the business in delivering its services in a professional and profitable manner. Duties include:

Managing day-to-day financial transactions including reconciliations, payment plans, HICAPS and Denticare payments, invoices

Manage the patient schedule

Rostering, payroll and general staff management

Maintaining all external contracts and contractors for business operations

Leading and facilitating the development of internal systems and processes including business improvement projects

Interpreting various data to identify and act on performance opportunities

Managing general compliance around WHS, Dental/Medical procedures

Drive adherence to internal systems and quality standards

Run meetings and staff training

General administrative and management tasks as required

This role is full-time, based in Launceston with an annual salary of $90,000.

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have the following:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a business manager (dental practice management is a bonus!)

Demonstrated ability to manage your own time and workload

Experience in MYOB, MS Office and other business management software

Experience managing staff rostering and absence cover (we use Employment Hero and HappyHR)

An ability to identify efficiency improvements and manage internal business projects

Excellent rapport and communication skills

Experience in a leadership position with a firm approach
