The Business and Technology Group delivers the corporate functions which support the organisation by providing Human Resources (HR), finance, ICT, and accommodation services.
The Human Resources teams provide internal client service and support for workplace relations, workforce reporting, recruitment, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, work health and safety, and staff performance.

About you
We are seeking two enthusiastic HR professionals with experience in Work Health and Safety (WHS), injury, rehabilitation and early intervention case management. It is also preferable, but not required, to have experience in implementing HR Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
You will ideally have a good level of experience in providing HR advice to managers and employees, the ability to work independently with limited guidance, and enjoy working in a team environment.
The position and level offered will be based on your level of relevant experience and technical knowledge.
Duties of the role
The main duties of these roles include:
- reviewing different aspects of the WH&S function, including policies, procedures, and resources, to ensure continuous improvement and legislative and regulatory compliance.
- delivering rehabilitation case management activities (non-compensable and compensable), including early intervention, and providing WHS advice to stakeholders.
- managing WH&S incident reporting and analysing data to identify, plan, and deliver new initiatives.
- managing the promotion and administration of the AIHW’s Employee Assistance Program
- overseeing corporate WH&S roles (H&S Representatives, Harassment Contact Officers, First Aid Officers).
- providing secretariat support to the AIHW’s Health & Safety Committee (HSC) including coordinating
- meetings, drafting papers, taking minutes, and liaising with members.
- managing or contributing to WH&S reporting, including HSC, Executive Committee and Board reports, performance reports, and the Annual Report.
- implementing, with support, various Diversity and Inclusion initiatives across the institute, and providing support to the internal diversity staff networks.
- working across the People & Facilities Unit with a view to supporting the team through engaging with, and enabling, cross-skilling as required.
To be eligible to apply for this vacancy, you must:

- obtain and maintain a valid Security Clearance if required by the institute
- A probationary period of six months will apply to any new engagement to the APS
