About the role

As the Governance Coordinator at the Shire of Boddington, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and effective governance of this local government organisation. This full-time position is located in Boddington, WA 6390, and will involve supporting the Council and executive team in maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

What you'll be doing

Ensure the Shire’s compliance with the Local Government Act 1995, Regulations and other relevant legislation.

Manage, development, review and implementation of Council policies, operational practices, procedures and guidelines.

Coordinate the completion of the Annual Compliance Audit Return within the required timeframes.

Undertake the annual review of delegations and sub-delegations in accordance with legislation.

Prepare Council reports in relation to Governance matters.

Facilitate the review of the Shire’s Local Laws.

Review and facilitate the implementation of the Shire’s Risk Management Framework.

Conduct annual reviews of the Operational and Strategic Risk Register with the Executive Leadership Team.

What we're looking for

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and/or demonstrate sound transferrable skills with outstanding Governance and Risk Management abilities. Producing high quality work and having a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in local government would be advantageous, and the individual must exhibit strong organisational skills along with excellent customer service skills.
