This role will support the Government Law team, providing exposure to a variety of legal matters, particularly in high-volume litigation and government-related work.

The Role

This role is a Legal Assistant within the Canberra Government Law Practice, supporting a team of legal professionals with a range of tasks.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Answering phone calls and assisting with enquiries
• Diary management, scheduling appointments and court events
• Preparing legal documents and correspondence
• File opening, closing, and system management
• Assisting with monthly billing and client reports

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• At least 1 year of experience as a legal assistant OR be a law student with at least one year of experience and two years remaining in your degree (working a minimum of four days per week)
• Strong organisational and diary management skills
• Excellent MS Word and formatting proficiency
• The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and initiative
