About the Role

We are recruiting a Laboratory Assistant for a state government client in the mining industry. This is a 2–3-month casual position with potential for extension. The successful candidate will work 3 days per week.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Receipt and registration of client samples for analysis
• Sample preparation for analysis
• Preparation of filters and assembly of cassettes for hygiene monitoring
• Oversee laboratory consumables
• Documenting results and reporting
• Meeting strict deadlines to ensure customer needs are met

Skills & Experience:

• This role does not require a tertiary qualification; however, a Diploma or Certificate in Laboratory Techniques or similar is highly regarded.
• A proactive and positive approach to your work
• Knowledge of operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• An understanding of the requirements of documentation and record keeping requirements within a laboratory
• High attention to detail and great organisational skills
