The Pavilion Performing Arts Centre Sutherland Ltd is seeking a Bar Manager to lead our bar operations at two vibrant venues. We are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to fostering cultural growth through the performing arts. With two incredible venues – The Pavilion and Sutherland Arts Theatre – we’re looking for a Bar Manager who can lead, innovate, and ensure our patrons enjoy exceptional food and beverage experiences at every event.
In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our bar services, from stock management to staff leadership, ensuring smooth service and a memorable experience for all our guests. You’ll work closely with suppliers, event teams, and our fantastic bar staff to drive excellence in every aspect of the bar operation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Leading bar services across events, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction.
Managing supplier relationships, stock levels, and ensuring high-quality products are always available.
Overseeing the recruitment, training, and leadership of a casual bar staff team.
Maintaining safety and compliance with liquor licensing, health, and safety regulations.
Collaborating with event teams to create event-specific drink menus, venue activations and promotional strategies.
Driving process improvements for efficiency, customer service, and financial performance.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a Bar Manager with extensive experience in bar or hospitality management, ideally in a live events or performing arts venue. You’ll have strong leadership skills and be able to manage a team to ensure top-notch service at every event. If you’re organised, proactive, and passionate about providing exceptional guest experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Requirements:
Experience in bar or hospitality management, ideally in a live events or performing arts environment.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Solid understanding of liquor licensing laws, stock control, and safety regulations.
Certification in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), First Aid, and CPR. Previous Licensee training and experience is highly desirable.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
