About the opportunity:
Position: Pharmacist – Senior
Vacancy: Permanent full-time
Location: North Queensland Kidney Transplant Service, Townsville University Hospital
The Senior Pharmacist will play a key role in the highly skilled North Queensland Kidney Transplant multidisciplinary team, to make a tangible impact on the lives of north Queenslanders.
The purpose of this role is to deliver senior pharmacy services the North Queensland Kidney Transplant Service.
This includes:
- Delivering high quality evidenced based Pharmacy clinical services to patients/consumers within a highly functioning interprofessional team.
- Contribution to the advancement of quality Pharmacy services and optimal patient care, through provision of service development, quality improvement, and clinical education.
- Monitoring and reporting on work practices and outcomes, including initiating, planning and evaluating relevant quality and research initiatives.
- Providing supervision and training to less experienced (HP3) clinicians, students and to Allied Health Assistants (AHA's).

- Salary range: $128,169 to $137,918 p.a. (HP4)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:
- Possession of a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution. Registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). While not mandatory, a post graduate qualification (diploma or similar) would be well regarded.
- The position may be required to work across any of the sites / facilities within the Townsville Hospital & Health service based on current service needs and priorities.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
