About the role:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic consultant who will have strengths in energy and climate change to join our team. The position is based in Melbourne, Australia. We allow for flexible work arrangements and the position title and remuneration will be based on level of experience.

You will:
1. Develop and Implement Environmental Policies: Lead the organisation’s sustainability policies to manage and reduce emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3), ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.
2. Oversee ESG and Sustainability Strategy: Manage the organisation’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, ensuring alignment with global frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and ISSB.
3. Carbon Management & Net-Zero Transition: Develop and enforce Net-Zero strategies, oversee carbon footprint assessments, and manage Carbon Neutrality certifications through offset purchases.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with environmental laws and sustainability standards, conducting risk assessments to mitigate environmental and supply chain risks.
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy: Collaborate with senior management, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to drive corporate environmental initiatives and influence policy development.
6. Energy & Resource Management: Oversee energy efficiency programs and audits, implementing cost-effective solutions to reduce the organisation’s carbon footprint and operational costs.
7. Sustainability Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Supervise sustainability data collection and reporting, ensuring accurate disclosure of environmental performance in public reports and compliance documents.
8. Corporate Strategy & Business Integration: Integrate sustainability into business operations, ensuring alignment between environmental goals and overall corporate strategy.
9. Team Leadership & Capacity Building: Manage and mentor sustainability teams, providing guidance on environmental initiatives and overseeing employee sustainability training programs.
10. Budget & Project Management: Oversee budgets for environmental projects, securing funding and ensuring financial feasibility of sustainability initiative.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Relevent engineering or environmental science degree.
• Up to 3 years of experience in Environmental consulting.
