MARS Recruitment is proud to partner with a global financial services organisation in their search for a Tax Accountant to join on a permanent basis. Renowned for their strong presence in both local and international markets, our client is a market leader in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of tax services, including calculations, returns, and reporting.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in tax accounting and possess a solid understanding of relevant principles and regulations.

The Responsibilities:

• Calculating unit trust distributions, taxable income, BAS, and tax reporting requirements.
• Assisting with superannuation fund tax calculations and return preparation.
• Supporting project initiatives, including testing and updating tax templates.
• Actively contributing to team goals and participating in key meetings.
• Maintaining compliance with tax regulations and managing operational risks.
• Providing solutions to complex client queries.

The Requirements:

• CA/CPA/CTA qualified.
• Minimum of 3 years' tax experience in a similar role, ideally from the financial services industry / Big 4.
• A strong understanding of tax accounting principles related to financial instruments, trusts, and/or superannuation funds.
• Confident in Excel and using large ERP systems.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• A self-starter with a positive attitude and initiative.

• The hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
