Our Quest:

Hello. We’re the Y WA

We’re that local (Not-For-Profit) Child & Parent Centre (CPC) located on Weaver Place in South Hedland (WA) who’s all about connecting with community and ‘learning’ for children and parents. And guess what? You’re a BIG part of how we make this happen.

We’re on the lookout for an Early Years Coordinator (16 month-fixed term contract) who is passionate about child development and family support. But let’s face it, you work to live! Enjoy the unique South Hedland lifestyle with spectacular camping, national parks, stargazing, the staircase to the moon, Pilbara wildflowers, new hip & happening cafes, and weigh up your awesome perks below:

Your awesome perks:

  • $96,096 to $100,444.50 + 11.5% Super per annum
  • Plus $5.61 p/h Remote Allowance (up to $10,939.50 per yr)
  • Plus, Salary Packaging Remote Area Benefits (Incl claiming your rent / mortgage / utility bills & more)
  • Subsidised Housing on offer (subject to availability)
  • Keen on relocating to South Hedland? A generous Relocation Assistance package is on offer! (if eligible)
  • Generous corporate healthcare discounts (up to 8%)
  • Genuine mentorship, training, and professional support
  • Discounted childcare up to 70% per day
  • Buy a NEW CAR & save on tax (Novated Leasing on offer)
  • Work for a WA based Non-For-Profit making a real difference in our local community with unwavering focus and commitment to safeguarding children

What you’ll be doing:

To start, you’ll sit down for a cuppa with your Child & Parent Centre Manager to chat about the CPC, the ethos & purpose, integrated services, health, wellbeing, our wonderful families and school readiness for our little ones. The early learning programs will become yours, to develop, implement and improve. You’ll become a role model for families and children (up to 8 yrs of age) and a CPC Advocate while you collaborate with the local primary school, and interact with local agencies, support services and community stakeholders. Sounds interesting?

You’ll be great in this role if you…

  • Can demonstrate previous early years’ experience working with children and their families
  • Understand Early Years Learning Framework (or similar)
  • Hold a nationally recognised tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent (desirable not essential)
  • Have worked with families and children from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, including indigenous, low socio-economic, young parents and socially isolated families
  • Have proficient written & verbal communication skills
  • Have reasonable computer literacy and technology skills
  • Can obtain a HLTAID012 First Aid Certificate, National Police Clearance and Working with Children check
