Arena Health & Performance is looking for an experienced & skilled Exercise Scientist (Exercise Physiology Student) who wants to continue to grow as a coach while helping people reach their goals.
The Position:
An opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join our coaching team.
Your role will be to coach a variety of different clientele from highly driven general populations, clinical clients managing chronic health conditions, athletes rehabbing injuries to return to their best & everyone in between.
We operate with 3 key formats of coaching - Private 1:1, Semi-Private 4:1, and Group Classes.
The role consists of moving across all 3 of these spaces to deliver the highest level of coaching and performance.
The Person:
Will be skilled & proficient in:
- Programming Sessions tailored to individual client needs & goals.
- Delivering Programs & Sessions with a key focus on coaching, cueing & education.
- Performing Assessments & Re-Assessments to ensure clients are on track to achieve their goals.

Daily Responsibilities:
Day to day you will be responsible for:
- Coaching across all 3 formats of the gym.
- Regularly writing and updating client programs to accommodate their goals and progress.
- Monitoring client progress through check-ins and provide appropriate support and guidance.
- Maintaining effective communication between athletes and coaches to ensure a collaborative approach to client's health & training.
- Fostering a positive and motivating training environment by staying on top of general gym duties such as admin and cleaning tasks.
Professional Development:
You will progress your skills as a coach by learning:
- The high end specifics of programming for athletes, general pops and rehab clients.
- The details of many different injuries and conditions and how to exercise specifically to manage these.
- Expanding your exercise knowledge and selection of exercises.
- Working with coaches who specialise in different areas of coaching including high performance, musculoskeletal rehab & neurological conditions.
Requirements:
- A degree in Exercise Science or Cert III & IV in Fitness.
- Experience on a gym floor leading both private and group training.
- Strong knowledge of exercise programming and client management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and trainers.
- First Aid
- CPR
- Working with Children Check
- Studying Exercise Physiology is highly desirable (not essential)
Working Hours:
The position hours range between 6-10 hours per week with the opportunity to grow.
