About the role

  • Lead a dynamic Contact Centre team in providing quality care for clients in Alcohol and Drug Services.
  • Operate state-wide telephone and online services for people using alcohol or other drugs.
  • Work within a strengths-based and harm-minimisation framework to deliver person-centred care.
  • Provide drug and alcohol counselling, including bio-psychosocial assessments and evidence-based interventions.
  • Offer health education, advice, and referrals to external agencies for further support.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in nursing, counselling, social work, psychology, or a related field and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.
  • Demonstrated relevant clinical alcohol and drug experience including assessment, brief intervention and counselling of clients with substance use problems and co-existing mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary approaches to alcohol and drug treatment, including harm reduction, person-centred and strengths-based approaches.
  • Ability to identify clients' specific needs and provide the appropriate assessments, interventions and approaches for an effective solution.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (written, verbal, and via telephone), proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic patient record systems, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
