Project Engineer needed for ongoing CSG construction project in the Surat Basin.

We will look at either mechanical engineers who have worked on similar projects (gas / pipelines construction)

A background in testing / pre commissioning is essential.

This work is with a well known contractor who focus on building pipelines and gathering infrastructure for the resources sector.
They have recently been awarded new packages of work from there long standing client who they have partnered with for many years.
The work is in the Surat Basin and you will be managing construction packages for gathering infrastructure for one of the main asset owners.

You will be working in the engineering team with 5 other engineers.

Pre-commissioning involves:

• Developing testing and tie-in methodologies for a work package
• Breaking up networks to suit testing methodologies
• Developing tie-in and testing plans and packs

The works involves working closely with the engineering manager, construction manager, testing supervisor, live works supervisor and QA team / survey team as well as client reps (engineer, test engineer and QA).
It is a very document heavy role that requires working closely with supervisors.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Have strong communications and planning skills / ability to work well in a team.
• Work closely with supervisors to plan out required works and then work with construction and engineering manager to develop a work sequence.
• Develop work activity schedules to allow other teams (QA team / survey team) to generate supporting documentation / progress works.
• Work closely with client reps to notify them of upcoming works and progress required documentation.
• Be driven and motivated.
• Stay on top of ordering to book in equipment or ensure back end crews have the material and equipment they need.
• Have a strong fundamental knowledge of the gathering industry. Will need to have a strong understand of pressure testing and live works. Or has a strong aptitude to learn.
• Will need to know how to answer or find answers to a lot of technical related questions. Will become the subject matter expert.
• Strong attention for detail and strong computer skills.
