About the Opportunity:

The business is undergoing significant growth and is looking to appoint a Machinist to join our manufacturing team on afternoon shift (2:30-11:00pm Mon-Thu & 12-6pm Fri).

General Responsibilities:

• Correct setting up of machinery in Hardware and Preform Departments.
• Investigating after production run tooling condition & assessing need for repairs/sharpening.
• Tooling resharpen / modifications where applicable.
• Continuous improvement feedback/implementation.
• Able to run Manual lathe, manual mill, semi-automatic bandsaws, linishers, CNC lathe, CNC mill, CNC press brake bender, drill press, crank press, hydraulic press and previous use of hand tools and power tools/hand held operations
• Study drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment, Machine components from engineering drawings within specified tolerances

The Essentials:

• A recognized Trade qualification in Machining.
• Prior experience with machining/operating as listed above.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Be physically fit and healthy in accordance with demands of the role
• Basic computer skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be punctual and reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
