About the role:

The Director of Programs and Accountability within the Ambulance, Emergency Care and Access Branch is responsible for overseeing and monitoring efforts to support the delivery of timely emergency care. The role includes working closely with internal and external stakeholders such as major public hospitals as well as Ambulance Victoria on the implementation of key government programs and priorities as well as monitoring performance related to the delivery of timely emergency care. The Director also has a critical role in responding to urgent operational issues across the service system, including emergencies and peak periods of demand pressure.

  • Recognised for your expertise in leading and monitoring the delivery of programs and change in complex environments and for your deep understanding of the Victorian health system?
  • Experienced in understanding and using data to support improvement efforts?

About you:

  • A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the Victorian health system, relevant departmental systems and environments and the ability to build increased capability in others.
  • Knowledge of contemporary approaches to health system performance, and its role in the wider context of government policy and reform priorities.
  • Exceptional advisory, negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proven experience in working with health sector partners to drive improvement and or implement complex programs or projects.
