About the role

We are seeking Traffic Controllers to join our team at Traffic Management Solutions Victoria Pty Ltd in Ballarat, VIC. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle. As a Traffic Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of workers and the public during road construction and maintenance projects.

What you'll be doing

• Implement and monitor traffic management plans to control the flow of vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists through work zones
• Operate portable traffic lights, signs and other equipment to direct traffic
• Monitor and adjust traffic control measures as required to respond to changing conditions
• Communicate effectively with the public, project managers and other team members
• Maintain a safe work environment by identifying and mitigating potential hazards
• Comply with all relevant safety regulations and company policies
• Respond to emergency callouts 24/7

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Traffic Controller, is preferable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the public and project stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks
• Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work flexible hours as required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Hold a valid Traffic Controller qualification, Construction Induction Card (white card) and a current driver's licence
