Core duties and responsibilities
- Complete all required safety documentation before commencing works including G2G, SWI/JHA/SWMS and permit to work.
- Follow and enforce safety rules and procedures including wearing the heat-resistant gloves, protective masks and clothes required for performing welding works safely.
- Conduct machine pre starts and checks on the welding equipment and tools to ensure they are safe to use.
- Interpret engineering and technical drawings to determine plan layout, measurements, and sequence of welding assignments.
- Assess the job requirement and determine the equipment and welding methods suitable for the job.
- Design, fabricate, assemble and repair structures, pipes, and other metal components using welding and cutting techniques such as MIG or TIG welding, oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, etc.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions to the required quality standard.
- Assist with recommending materials, welding methods and estimating costs for labour and materials.
- Perform alternative tasks other than boilermaking as directed by the responsible supervisor.
Essential Requirements for role
- Cert III in Engineering Fabrication
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 12 months minimum experience with fixed plant maintenance
- Demonstrated willingness to follow policies and procedures.
- Proficient with GTAW, GMAW, MMAW and FCAW in 3G, 4G and 6G positions.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to perform as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
Not Essential but highly desired
- High risk licence: EWP, FL, DG , Rigging , CN or Overhead crane
- SAP experience: Raising notifications, time confirmation
- Rotable Rebuilds of Crushing Components
- Vibrating Screens
- Competent with Laser aligning equipment
