We are a CPA firm located in St Kilda/Windsor.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a public practice environment, with a strong background in bookkeeping, accounting, and taxation for small businesses. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and handle a variety of tasks, including tax returns, BAS lodgements, and financial reporting.

Key Attributes:

• Proven experience of at least 3 years in a public practice environment, specifically in bookkeeping, accounting, and small business taxation.
• CA/CPA qualification is highly desirable.
• Strong writing and communication skills, with an excellent attention to detail and the ability to engage directly with clients.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and manage workflows efficiently, meeting deadlines for tax and BAS lodgements.
• Proficiency in various accounting software, with particular experience in Xero (our primary software). Experience with BGL for SMSF compliance is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of Income Tax laws and GST framework, with experience preparing Income Tax Returns, Financial Reports, and quarterly BAS for a broad range of taxpayers, including companies, trusts, individuals, partnerships, and multi-entity groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of IAS/BAS returns.
• Preparation of Financial Reports and Income Tax Returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders, individuals, and multi-entity groups.
• Processing Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports, Superannuation contributions reports, and Taxable Payment Annual Reports (TPAR).
• Liaising with government agencies, such as the Tax Office, ASIC, and SRO on various administrative matters.
• Direct client communication to maintain workflow and follow up on any outstanding queries.
