We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team and play a critical role in managing client work, supporting junior staff, and optimizing internal processes to ensure we continue delivering exceptional service.

About the Role

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will take ownership of SME compliance work, assist in reviewing financials, support tax advisory, and contribute to workflow management. You will work closely with our Managing Partner and leadership team to ensure smooth operations while continuing to develop your professional expertise.

Client Management & Compliance

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring timely delivery of BAS, financial statements, and tax returns.
• Assist with technical tax and business advisory guidance to clients.
• Support senior accountants in reviewing and finalizing work.

Workflow & Team Collaboration

• Work with junior accountants and support their development.
• Ensure workflow efficiency, balancing workloads across the team.
• Work alongside Denica (Software Lead) to optimize processes through automation.

Strategic & Operational Contribution

• Identify areas for operational improvement and automation in accounting workflows.
• Assist in onboarding and transitioning new clients to cloud-based solutions (Xero, QuickBooks, etc.).
• Collaborate with the leadership team to refine workflow processes.

About You

Skills & Experience

• Experienced & Technically Strong – you have 3–5 years in public practice accounting (business services/tax), ideally working with SME clients
• Strong knowledge of compliance, tax advisory, and financial reporting
• CA/CPA qualification desirable
• Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, and workflow automation tools.
