We are currently seeking a Senior Information Officer to join a large and complex state government department. This role will be working in their Infrastructure Operations team and be an hourly rate contract until September 2027.

About the Role

In this key position, you will play a crucial role in collecting, analysing, and presenting performance data to support infrastructure planning and decision-making across the department. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, using contemporary business intelligence tools to provide accurate and insightful reporting that drives strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain performance measurement systems to support evidence-based decision-making.

Extract, analyse, and present complex datasets using business intelligence tools.

Create and maintain business intelligence solutions for accessible and user-friendly reporting.

Provide technical expertise on departmental data trends and insights.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure best practices in data management and reporting.

Prepare briefing notes, Ministerial correspondence, and executive reports on key departmental data.

Conduct research and analysis to support business improvement initiatives.

Contribute to innovative solutions for infrastructure, planning, and asset management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Strong experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or performance measurement within a large organisation.
• Proficiency in data extraction, manipulation, and reporting using modern business intelligence tools.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate insights effectively.
• A strategic and analytical mindset with a keen eye for emerging trends and their impacts.
• Experience preparing reports, briefing notes, and strategic recommendations.
• Familiarity with IT service management, open data, or geospatial information (highly regarded).
