Embracing Self Psychological Services is a highly regarded Neuroaffirming Psychology Practice based in Townsville North Queensland.
We provide services across the lifespan both face to face in our clinic and via Telehealth for those who are unable to access our face to face services.

You will be working alongside a professional and progressive practice team providing care and support to clients using evidenced based, person centred techniques.
Our team is expanding our services to include an Occupational Therapist to join our team in a full-time capacity. The role entails delivering quality client centred assessment, treatment, and case formulation within a Neuroaffirming lens.

About You
To be successful in this role you will be prepared to work hard and enjoy the benefits of working closely with a small team of Psychologists. As a self starter and problem solver, you will be able to identify opportunities and maximise client care. Ideally, you will align with Neuroaffirming practices and be open to broader learning.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Work from a Neuroaffirming trauma informed practice ethos of care.
- Maintain a client caseload to be negotiated in line with experience.
- Provide assessments and interventions to clients across the lifespan.
- Case formulation and identifying and working towards clients’ goals.
- Develop tailored treatment plans for referred clients.
- Complete electronic client notes and reports to an appropriate standard.
- Engage in case conferences and progress reporting as required.
- Maintain and develop professional skills through supervision and professional development.
- Attend clinical supervision and maintain Continued Professional Development (CPD) standards as per AHPRA guidelines. (CPD budget provided).
- Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, other professionals and government agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all matters relating to the organisation, clients, other practitioners and procedures.
- completion of Functional Capacity Assessments to support National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan funding and support requirements and completion of in-home, community or clinic based therapy to support independence in activities of daily living tasks, with a physical and/or psychological scope.
Qualifications (Essential)
Criminal History Clearance – Blue Card: Possession of a Positive Notice Blue Card from Blue Card Services is mandatory for this role. If a current Positive Notice Blue Card is not held by the applicant, employment will not commence with Embracing Self Psychological Service until this is obtained.
• Qualification: Possession of a qualification in Occupational Therapy from a registered tertiary institution is mandatory for this role.
• Professional Registration: Possession of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, along with a current annual practicing certificate is mandatory for this role. Registration must be maintained for the duration of employment in this role.
• Eligibility for a Medicare provider number is essential.
