About the role

Mertens Motors' is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, offering the opportunity to work on a wide range of heavy machinery and vehicles to keep our operations running smoothly.

What you'll be doing

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on heavy-duty vehicles, construction equipment and other machinery
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using specialized tools and equipment
• Carry out overhaul and rebuild work on engines, transmissions, differentials and other major components
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
• Ensure all work is completed to high standards of quality and safety
• Collaborate with the wider team to optimize workshop efficiency and productivity

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a related automotive trade
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, ideally in a workshop environment
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Flexible and adaptable approach to handle a diverse range of machinery and tasks
• Valid driver's licence and your own reliable transport
