We currently have the opportunity for a Communications Officer – Digital to join our team.
As Communications Officer – Digital with Kiama Council you will:
- Implement, administer and develop Council’s digital communications across a variety of platforms
- Deliver projects and content for Council’s websites, intranet, engagement platforms, and social media channels
- Work to improve usability, ensure business efficiency and achieve industry best practice standards and accessibility across Council’s digital communication platforms and social media
- Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate content creation and regular updates
- Identify trends and innovation in digital communications and social media to improve Council’s offering
- Create exciting and dynamic content for Council’s social media channels and bring fresh ideas for external and internal communications campaigns to the table
- Build and maintain effective networks within the local government sector to improve and enhance our digital communications
- Develop procedures, policies and guidelines to manage and improve digital communications, engagement and social media presence with our external and internal stakeholders.
- Track statistics and use analysis tools to provide regular reports on Council’s digital performance across different channels.
What we offer...
- Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
(Consideration of a job share arrangement would be given to this position, providing opportunity to work on a temporary part time basis) - Annual salary commencing from $88,034 to $97,058
(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience) - Progressive salary up to $100,007
- Plus 11.5 % superannuation

What you'll need to be successful in the role...
- A Degree in Digital Communications, Marketing, Information Technology or equivalent
- Experience in project management with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
- Experience in the development, management and maintenance of websites and intranets and social media channels
- Experience in graphic design and/or social media management
- Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- The ability to take initiative, think creatively, work well under pressure, prioritise and work as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills with web writing expertise and strong attention to detail
- An understanding of and commitment to web usability and accessible content, SEO and WCAG2.0.
- The ability to analyse and monitor digital platforms using web and user analytics, create reports and make recommendations for improvement.
