We currently have an opportunity for a Community Engagement Officer to join our Communications team on a temporary full-time basis.
As a Community Engagement Officer with us you will:
• Coordinate and oversee external stakeholder engagement
- Support staff to deliver community engagement activities for Council
• Facilitate community engagement with residents, businesses and key stakeholders in our Municipality
• Report the results of engagement to the community and communicate how their input will be incorporated into the future strategic direction of Council and our Municipality.
What we offer...
- A temporary full-time role, 35 hours per week until 16 May 2026
(Consideration of a job share arrangement would be given to this position, providing opportunity to work on a temporary part time basis) - An annual salary from $88,034.96 to $97,058.52
(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience) - Plus 11.5 % superannuation

What you'll need to be successful in the role...
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs or a similar discipline
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience developing and delivering community engagement plans and activities, dealing directly with community members
- Well-developed ability to influence, negotiate, build trust and resolve conflict
- Proven experience in applying innovative community engagement methods and a commitment to continuous improvement
- The ability to exercise high levels of autonomy, while at the same time working effectively in a team-based environment that is outcomes focused
- The ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver to deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare communications content in a range of formats
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation, with key stakeholders and with members of the community.
