Working at CQUniversity

Get off the tools and get into teaching

Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a fresh challenge? Why not use your hands-on experience to inspire the next generation of tradespeople. CQUniversity is on the lookout for industry pros who want to get off the tools – at least to some extent – and get into teaching. You will provide training in a broad range of tasks on various light vehicles for the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, equipping students with the practical skills needed for success in the industry.

At CQUniversity, we value real-life industry experience as a key strength in our teaching staff. You’ll bring your practical skills into the classroom and workshop, guiding students through real-world scenarios to ensure they graduate job-ready. Whether you’re delivering hands-on training, leading classroom discussions, or mentoring apprentices, your expertise will make a lasting impact.

Get paid to work and study

No teaching experience? No worries! If you're passionate about your trade and enjoy mentoring, we’ll support you in becoming a qualified trainer. You’ll be paid to earn while you learn the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, with full support from our team. Gain the qualifications to teach while working in a role that offers great job security and career progression.

Consider a change in scenery and make the move to Regional Queensland

Relocate to the Rockhampton Region and embrace a city rich in history, with a beautiful riverfront, great dining, and easy access to the Capricorn Coast.
