The Role:
Reporting to the CPO, managing a small team and with a National Remit, this role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, practical problem-solving, and empathetic leadership. You will be responsible for:
- Legislative Proficiency: Ensuring compliance with legislation state by state.
- Psychological Claims Management: Effectively managing psychological claims, including developing and implementing defense strategies.
- Proactive Safety Culture Development: Cultivating a proactive safety culture and preventing common workplace issues within the childcare environment.
- Effective Communication and Influencing: Navigating complex situations and influencing stakeholders, including teams, insurers, and brokers.
- Strategic Claims Management and Cost Control: Diligently overseeing claims and minimizing costs and claim duration.
- Early Intervention: Implementing and managing effective early intervention programs.
- Advocacy and Fairness: Advocating for timely return-to-work while safeguarding the company from non-genuine claims.
- Human-Centric Leadership: Mentoring others and fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Adaptability: Thriving in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous growth environment.
- Pragmatic Problem-Solving: Developing practical, real-world solutions.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in safety, recovery, and compliance management.
- Thorough understanding of Victorian legislation.
- Experience managing psychological claims.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to demonstrate that you support people that really need it and are able to recognise those claims that are not able to be substantiated.
- Empathy and a commitment to fairness.
- Experience in the childcare sector is advantageous but not essential.
