About the Role

As a CAD Draftsperson, you will play a vital role in the design and production process, creating precise technical drawings in AutoCAD for Shop Drawing submissions, manufacturing and installation. This role requires a strong understanding of AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (as required), technical standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams to ensure smooth project execution. Your work will be instrumental in transforming design concepts into high-quality finished products. You will work on multiple smaller projects, (rather than one large project for months at a time).

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible to:

• Develop Shop Drawings for submission to client for approval of Facade cladding, glazing systems and supporting steelwork.
• Produce Fabrication drawings for our factory including cladding panels, brackets, support steelwork and glazing systems
• Ensure all designs comply with technical and environmental standards before submission for production.
• Collaborate with the production team to revise and modify drawings based on feedback and production requirements.
• Create 3D models of design concepts (as needed) and 2D drawings to document components for installation and fabrication.
• Interpret sketches or markups to modify existing drawings as needed.
• Travel occasionally to collaborate with teams or clients on specific projects.

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in drafting for facades, windows, or both is essential.
• A diploma or degree in industrial design, engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant technical certifications will also be considered.
• Proven experience in creating technical drawings and designs for manufacturing purposes.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards for manufacturing and environmental compliance.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with production teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent English skills
• Strong Proficience in AutoCad
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
