The Opportunity

Sestra People have been engaged by a range of clients across different industries including Utilities, Consulting, Environmental Management, Facilities, Government and more. We have multiple opportunities in the pipeline for seasoned GIS consultants across both Spatial Analytics and Software Development, with varying skill sets and experience levels to meet the unique needs of our clients.

What experience will you have?

• Application Development: You will be a seasoned GIS specialist, with experience developing and maintaining GIS applications and databases, using platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, GE Smallworld and custom-built solutions.
• Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver GIS solutions
• Integration: Experience integrating GIS applications with other enterprise systems and databases using APIs and web services
• Programming: Strong programming experience to develop custom GIS tools and extensions with languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL and C#
• Data Collection & Processing: Collecting, Processing and Analysing Spatial Data from different sources, including satellite imagery, GPS and field surveys
• Spatial Analysis: Strong experience performing spatial analysis, such as overlay analysis, network and spatial statistics, and making data-driven recommendations to inform decision making
• Visualisation & Reporting: Building data visualisations (reports and dashboards) and reporting findings back to stakeholders.
• Modelling: Developing and implementing spatial models to simulate real-world scenarios and predict future trends

What Skills & Qualifications will you have?

• Proficiency in GIS Software suits (ie, ArcGIS, QGIS, GE and Open-Source technologies)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong fluency in English, both written and verbal
• Full Australian work rights (Permanent Residents, Citizens and/or Security Cleared Candidates only)
• Relevant University Degree (including but not limited to Computer Science, Environmental Science, Urban & Regional Planning, Geoinformatics, IT and Communication Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Civil Engineering etc.)
