The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 4 House Services Coordinator within Commercial Operations Branch.
The Australian Parliament House (APH) House Services Team delivers high quality food and beverage services to building occupants and visitors that showcase products of the local region and position APH as a destination of choice. Services will be delivered through a range of venues, kitchens and retail outlets that include venues for function catering, a la carte, bistro, café.
The House Services Coordinator is responsible for a sustainable catering model which is capable of delivering over 500,000 covers annually. The House Services Coordinator will work amongst a small team to deliver services.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fit into a fast-paced environment working collaboratively to provide services to the Parliament.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Be flexible, adaptable and agile in a changeable and reactive environment,
- Have strong communication and inter-personal skills,
- Have a demonstrated ability to manage and lead a small team, and
- Be resilient, able to cope with periods of operational pressure and willing to respond to change.
The successful candidate will have professional experience in the delivery of food services/catering, ideally in a multi-faceted venue. The applicant will have the skills and attributes to deliver high quality catering outcomes for DPS, experience working successfully with stakeholders and managing relationships.
Peak service times are Monday to Thursday on parliamentary sitting weeks (approximately 20 weeks per year). Shift work may be required during parliamentary sitting weeks.
Job Specific Requirements:
Required to work extended and/or irregular hours on an "as required" basis.
May be deployed to duties of an equivalent level in this or another area of the Catering and Events Team to meet changing work priorities.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.
