The Opportunity

We’re seeking an SQF Practitioner / Quality Assurance Specialist to champion our Food Safety and Quality Management System (QMS) across our Truganina and Richmond facilities. In this new role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our commitment to quality and safety, ensuring that our products meet legislative, customer, and organisational standards.

You will support initiatives to foster a robust food safety culture, conduct rigorous quality assurance activities, and uphold compliance with various certifications.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Quality & Food Safety: Oversee HACCP, SQF, and regulatory compliance across quality programs, including inspections, testing, and CCP management.
  • Audits & Certifications: Coordinate internal and external audits to keep certifications up-to-date and maintain compliance.
  • Testing & Monitoring: Lead testing for products, packaging, shelf-life, and environmental conditions; perform line checks and raw material assessments.
  • QMS Documentation: Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System and HACCP documentation to support product integrity.
  • Training & Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure QMS, SQF, and quality initiatives are implemented consistently.
  • Technical Compliance: Verify that new products, ingredients, and packaging meet all regulatory standards.
  • Environmental & Safety Compliance: Monitor pest control and environmental requirements, and provide safety activity reports.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyse quality data, address trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Complaint & Non-Conformance Management: Handle customer complaints and manage corrective actions for non-conformances.

What we’re looking for;

  • Degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in quality assurance within the food or beverage industry, with hands-on knowledge of HACCP & SQF. Certified SQF Practitioner.
  • Audit Experience: Familiar with preparing for and conducting internal and external audits, and maintaining certifications as Rainforest Alliance, ACO, Halal, Kosher.
  • Communication and Training Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to provide effective guidance, training, and foster collaboration across a highly diverse workforce and a variety of stakeholders.
  • Safety Programs & Auditing: Experience in conducting safety audits and presenting reporting advantages but not essential.
