Our client is a local family business with a 20 year reputation of engineering services to heavy industry. Due to a projected increase in work we are looking for a Manual Machinist to be based at their Newcastle based workshop. For the right person this position has the option to be a Casual or Full Time Permanent placement

What's involved?

• Manual Machining that is repairs based
• Manual lathes and mills
• Horizontal and vertical borers
• Thermal arc spraying
• Hydraulic cylinder repairs
• General Fitting

What are we looking for?

• Mechanical Trade Qualification
• 3 - 5 years + post trade experience as a Manual Machinist
• A passion for machining
• Forklift ticket preferred
• A keen eye for detail
• A can do attitude and proactivity to execute projects
• Excellent work references that can support your application

What we can offer you:

• Option for casual or full time permanent for the right person
• 4 Day work week available after probation period
• Permanent hourly rates between $49 - $53.20 / hour after probation
