Madelyn James Accountants is a small public practice accounting firm based in Lesmurdie. We operate from a home office and service clients across Australia. Due to our business's growth, we are seeking an Intermediate Tax Accountant with a minimum of 3 years of experience to support our team. This position will suit a staying-home mum or dad during school hours, 9 am to 3 pm, currently 3 days per week. This is an employee position and is ON SITE in Lesmurdie.

Qualifications & experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting. Studying towards CPA/CA qualification is desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a tax accountant
• Experience with MYOB and Xero products
• Experience with Dext software is desirable
• Possess the ability and experience to interpret and analyse financial data
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Tasks & responsibilities

• Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements
• Preparation of financial reports, general ledger, and journal entries
• Preparation of tax computations, income tax returns, BAS and IAS
• Review and reconcile quarterly data for the BAS lodgment
• Assisting with in-house bookkeeping
