Make a Difference in Queensland's Workplaces
Are you passionate about improving work health and safety? Do you want to help reduce the risk of workplace injuries and fatalities? Join our multi-disciplinary team as a Senior Inspector (Construction) and contribute to safer workplaces across Queensland.
What You'll Do:
- Enforce compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Electrical Safety Act 2002 to enhance workplace safety.
- Participate in compliance campaigns, industry audits, workplace inspections, and risk management initiatives.
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and complaints, preparing detailed reports and implementing enforcement actions.
- Build strong relationships with industry stakeholders, providing education and guidance on workplace safety.
- Deliver advisory services, workshops, and presentations to promote best practices in workplace health and safety.
- Support regional planning and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively across compliance programs and promote an inclusive, diverse workplace culture.

What We're Looking For:
- Right to work in Australia.
- A trade qualification is considered highly desirable but not required.
- A valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one).
- Strong computer skills to manage workplace health and safety data.
- Ability to complete the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland's inspector induction program and obtain a Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection).
- Willingness to undergo necessary immunisations and respiratory protective equipment fit testing.
- Availability for on-call and weekend roster work.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Expertise in identifying workplace hazards and advising on safety legislation and standards.
- Strong risk management skills, with experience developing innovative hazard control strategies.
- Proven ability to conduct investigations, analyse workplace incidents, and prepare reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
