Role Overview

The Group Financial Controller will serve as the 2IC to the CFO, taking on a pivotal role in financial leadership and strategy. Initially offered as a contract position, this role is designed to drive financial improvements and rebuild confidence in the organisation’s financial reporting.

Due to rapid expansion there have been teething issues, leading to lack of reliability the numbers presented, the successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing financial integrity, implementing robust controls, and driving process improvements to ensure transparency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CFO to strengthen financial governance and reporting frameworks.
  • Oversee and refine financial processes to improve data accuracy, reporting quality, and compliance.
  • Lead initiatives in financial statements by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and transparency.
  • Implement and optimise financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance overall financial discipline.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices to streamline reporting and financial operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles, preferably within dynamic and fast-growing organisations.
  • Strong track record in financial reporting, controls, and process optimisation.
  • Expertise in identifying and rectifying discrepancies in financial data, ensuring accurate and trustworthy reporting.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth environments and lead transformational financial initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Fully qualified CA or CPA with a background in chartered preferred If
