About the Role

A rapidly growing defence technology company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Service Engineer to join its expanding Delivery Team. This role is critical in ensuring that customers receive exceptional support throughout the entire lifecycle—from initial engagement, system installation, through to after-sales technical assistance.

Reporting primarily to the Associate Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with teams across Business Development, Operations, and Product Development. Key Responsibilities
•Partner with the Sales team to support technical engagements, ensuring system designs and quotations are accurate and tailored to customer needs.
•Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout ordering, installation, maintenance, and long-term support.
•Coordinate and manage the installation of complex multi-product systems at customer sites.
•Gather and document customer technical feedback to inform continuous product improvements.
•Provide valuable customer insights to the engineering team during new product development cycles.
•Conduct validation testing of new hardware and software releases from an end-user perspective.
•Deliver remote and on-site technical support to customers, troubleshooting issues effectively.
•Lead technical investigations and analysis to resolve issues independently when needed.
•Maintain and enhance technical documentation and support processes, ensuring continuous improvement.
•Build and sustain strong relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, and a diverse customer base, fostering clear and reliable communication channels.
•Stay current with the latest technologies, tools, and methods relevant to the role.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related quantitative field is highly regarded.
•Proven experience in a Field Service Engineering or technical support role, managing projects and collaborating closely with engineering teams.
•Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in both English and Japanese (written & verbal) – essential.
•Strong background in networking devices – essential.
•Proficiency with Linux operating systems – essential.
•Experience testing and supporting complex technical systems.
•Knowledge of telecommunications, RF systems, or electronic warfare technologies is highly desirable.
•Coding experience (Python, Go, JavaScript) is advantageous.
•Familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines and comfort working with stakeholders from varied technical and cultural backgrounds.
•Existing Defence Security Clearance is preferred, but not required.
