About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Junior Accountant to join the team at SMH Accountants & Advisors' in Travancore, VIC. As a full-time role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the wider accounting team in delivering high-quality financial services to our diverse client base.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and drafting Income Tax Returns , Company & Trust Tax returns.
• Liasing with client as well as Australian Taxation Office and ASIC.
• Assisting with the preparation of periodic financial reports.
• Providing administrative support to the accounting team as required
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the development of accounting policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field
• 1-2 years' experience in a junior accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in a professional services environment
• Strong proficiency with accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks and myob
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development
