About the role

Netstar Australia provide vehicle tracking solutions to the fleet management industry, and the role of the Product Manager is key to ensuring the right product is being built to suit our customer base.

As a Hardware Product Manager, you will have a passion for the Netstar solutions and be able to empathise with customers to help provide the correct hardware product to the customer. User expectations will play a key part in determining the final solution

You will be integrated within the Technology team, guiding daily design decisions, as well as outwardly focused to guide the solutions strategic direction in the near and mid-term future.

Key areas of focus are:
  • A passion for the products, and able to engage with all levels of stakeholders to showcase the solution.
  • A strategic thinker, able to prioritise the backlog based on the best value to stakeholders.
  • To aspire great user experiences, through a deep understanding of the customer and their needs.
  • Not afraid to get in and get dirty, creating user stories, creating Proof of Concept electronic or hardware configurations, QA testing, doing any and all things to ensure a products success.
  • Translate requirements from customers and salespeople into user requirements suitable for the developers
  • Translate developer output into customer facing documentation
Responsibilities
  • Identify customer needs through research, sales feedback, and market analysis.
  • Recommend product improvements and new opportunities by reviewing specifications and market trends.
  • Analyse competition to enhance product positioning.
  • Support sales and marketing in developing effective sales strategies.
  • Define user requirements, add user stories to the backlog, and prioritize features based on business and customer needs.
  • Maintain industry knowledge through workshops, networking, and professional development.
  • Create and update product documentation, training materials, and educate the sales team.
  • Ensure product continuity and review developer output against specifications.
Experience
  • 3+ Years’ experience in electronics
  • Demonstrated success in releasing products that meet and exceed business objectives.
  • Excellent detailed written and verbal communication skills, possibly including some user interface documentation skills.
  • Experience working with an agile development team
  • Experience in fault-finding electronic system faults
  • Knowledge of Jira, DevOps, or equivalent task management solution
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in business, or equivalent degree, or relevant business experience.
  • A degree in marketing, or relevant business experience.
  • A degree in electronics or equivalent industry experience
