We’re an established specialty manufacturer with a rapidly growing online business both nationally and internationally and growing distribution overseas. Based in Arundel on the Gold Coast, we have a position available for an Assistant Accountant.
This is a new role and combines work currently done by a part time bookkeeper and the Director. Working days/hours and location are flexible but generally will be 20-24 hours with some regular time required in the office. No weekend or after hours work is required but you must be available to work throughout school holidays.

Outline of the Role :
• Maintain financial records for several companies, including accounts payable/receivable, bank and merchant account reconciliations
• Management reporting
• Inventory and product cost reporting
• Freight review and analysis (international and local)
• Preparation of BAS Returns
• Weekly Single Touch Payroll Reporting and Superannuation reporting
• Software licensing / maintain IT register
• Project activities and Ad Hoc admin tasks
Experience with the following is required:
• Microsoft Excel for data extraction, sorting and manipulation
• MYOB (other accounting packages will be considered)
• Bank Feeds and Merchant accounts (eg Paypal, Stripe)

Experience working with online businesses will be highly regarded, and exposure to E commerce platforms such as Woocommerce, Bigcommerce, Magento or similar is important.
This role will require proficiency across a wide range of accounting activities. Initially the role will involve reviewing and developing new processes to take advantage of current technology (eg bank feeds, paperless office, etc).
This role involves the daily use of a number of other web based software packages and is always changing. You will need to be able to embrace new technology and learn new programs quickly.
Working as part of a small team you’ll keep daily activities on track but also provide assistance with project activities such as new market analysis, marketing and product development
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual with a ‘can do’ attitude. Your background is not as important as your attitude and personality. This role is not for someone seeking a steady routine with supervised direction, you’ll need to manage your time well and think on your feet.
