We pride ourselves on integrity, transparency, and a client-first philosophy in everything we do. Join our dynamic team, where exceptional service, professional development, and a collaborative work environment are at the heart of our culture. As a Junior Paraplanner, you will play a key role in assisting financial advisors in preparing comprehensive Statements of Advice (SOAs) for clients requiring superannuation and insurance advice. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of high-quality, compliant financial strategies that make a real difference in our clients’ financial futures.

Key Responsibilities:

Paraplanning and Advice Preparation:

  • Work closely with financial advisors to assist in the development of tailored Statements of Advice (SOAs), focusing on superannuation, insurance strategies, and risk management, in line with client objectives.
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis of clients’ financial situations, identifying opportunities to enhance their superannuation and insurance structures.
  • Prepare draft SOAs that clearly articulate advice and align with AFSL regulations, ensuring they are legally sound and meet the client’s goals.

Client Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure all financial advice and associated documentation are compliant with AFSL and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, advice provided, and any changes in client circumstances.
  • Stay informed of changes in industry regulations and incorporate updates into your work to ensure continued compliance.

Superannuation & Insurance Advice Support:

  • Assist financial advisors in creating superannuation and insurance strategies for clients, including those using Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs).
  • Support clients in understanding their insurance needs, whether inside or outside of superannuation, and help implement suitable insurance solutions.
  • Regularly review and update client records and advice, ensuring all strategies align with their evolving financial goals.

Team Collaboration and Client Interaction:

  • Collaborate with financial advisors and other team members to ensure smooth implementation of financial strategies and consistent client service.
  • Provide insightful recommendations to advisors based on client data and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing communication materials for clients, ensuring all information is clear, comprehensive, and easy to understand.

Continuous Improvement and Professional Development:

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest trends, regulatory changes, and tools in financial planning.
  • Actively contribute to internal discussions on best practices, process improvements, and regulatory changes that impact paraplanning and client service.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 6 months of experience in paraplanning or a similar role, with a focus on superannuation and insurance (not mandatory, however, recommended)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM systems, excel and financial planning software.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of superannuation and insurance strategies, particularly within SMSFs.
  • High ethical standards with a commitment to ensuring compliance with AFSL regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality service.
  • Problem-solving skills to navigate complex financial scenarios and provide effective solutions.

Working Conditions:

  • Flexibility: Hybrid work environment, with a preference for working from the office for full support.
  • Work Hours: Full-time position with flexibility to accommodate client schedules.

Benefits:

  • Career Development: Ongoing learning and professional growth opportunities to advance your career.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible work arrangements to support your personal and professional life.
