About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our talented culinary team at Breakfree Port Pirie in Port Pirie, SA 5540. As Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

• Assist in planning, organising and overseeing all kitchen operations
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure consistent food preparation and presentation
• Develop and implement new menu items, recipes and cooking techniques to enhance the guest dining experience
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Manage kitchen stock levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment within the kitchen team

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
• Formal culinary training and/or qualifications in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery
• Proven track record of leading and motivating a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with kitchen staff and front-of-house
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities to handle the demands of a busy kitchen
• Passion for delivering exceptional food and customer service
