About the Role:
Looking for a passionate Digital Communications Officer to join their team. In this role you will support the development, implementation and evaluation of a new communication strategy to enhance advocacy efforts and to connect with the diverse memberships base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies to support our organisation’s goals.
- Manage social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), including content creation, scheduling, and performance analysis.
- Develop, design, and distribute e-newsletters using Mail Chimp.
- Create digital assets (e.g., banners, flyers) using Canva.
- Maintain and update website content, ensuring it is SEO-friendly.
- Produce and share multimedia content (videos, podcasts) to engage our audience.
- Support communication projects, campaigns, and events.
- Provide guidance on best practices in communications and ensure consistency in visual identity across platforms.
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on continuous learning.
- Experience managing social media and using tools like Buffer.
- Proficient in e-newsletter creation via Mail Chimp.
- Skilled in Canva for graphic design.
- Experience with website content management (WordPress) and SEO.
- Ability to create multimedia content (video/audio).
- Capability to develop and advise on communication strategies.
The Offer:
This is a fantastic part-time opportunity, offering 1-2 days per week for a 3 month temporary contract, to join a wonderful organisation and team as their Digital Communications Officer. The role provides a competitive salary in line with the SCHADS award, ranging from $40 to $46 per hour, plus superannuation dependent on candidate experience.
