We’re building a next-gen, AI-native customs lodgement software for Australian brokers. We’re looking for a Customs ICS Integration Specialist/Product Manager to lead this effort alongside our development team.

The Role

We need a skilled Customs ICS Integration Specialist to collaborate with our software developers in designing and building a modern EDI API for direct integration with the ABF ICS. You’ll enable our clients to lodge customs-related submissions—cargo reports, import/export declarations, and more—through an efficient, cutting-edge solution. This role combines deep ICS expertise with hands-on API development to deliver a game-changing tool for customs compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product management and work closely with our talented engineers to build a modern customs management system for Australian customs brokers.
• Document all relevant customs workflows and logic, including cargo reports, declarations, billing, etc, to aid our engineers in successfully implementing our software
• Ensure compliance with EDIFACT message standards and ICS technical requirements from ABF's Software Developers Guide.
• Implement Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) digital certificates for secure customs data transmission.
• Coordinate with the team to adapt the API to ICS updates, outages, and maintenance schedules.
• Document the API’s customs integration processes for developers and end-users.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience with EDI integrations for the ABF Integrated Cargo System (ICS) in a customs context.
• Deep knowledge customs workflows and corresponding ICS requirements
• Experience in EDI message mapping for cargo, declarations, and excise submissions.
• Hands-on experience with the Common Connect Facility (CCF) and PKI digital certificate setup.
• Familiarity with ICS customs best practices—message pacing, reporting sequences, and workload management.
• Ability to apply technical guidance from the ICS Software Developers Guide (SDG) and CCF-ICS Best Practice Guide.
• Previous experience with a leading customs management software provider
