We are working with a large statutory govt department to recruit an experienced IT Engineer - Infrastructure to start ASAP. This is a contract position until the end of July 2025 with extension possible. This organisation offers a hybrid environment, you will be based in the Fortitude Valley head office with some work from home.

The objective of the project is to replace the existing OT proxy servers with fit-for-purpose, supported, commercial-grade proxy servers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building server and firewall infrastructure to replace existing legacy infrastructure.
• Meeting technical design specifications, operational support specifications and cyber security standards.
• Implementing a standardised and consistent configuration across all infrastructure.
• Establishing structured processes for configuration management and patch management.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive operational support documentation.
• Providing knowledge transfer and training.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with the following:

• Strong practical experience leading large-scale technical initiatives in Operational Technology enterprise organisations.
• Strong network management including routing, switching, firewalls and network security.
• Strong product management experience across VMWare, Windows, and Linux Servers.
• Knowledge of infrastructure architecture, implementation, and optimisation.
• Thorough understanding of ITIL including change management and configuration management.
• Working knowledge of SOCI Act and ASD Essential 8 Maturity Framework.
