Our City Works department is looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join our City Presentation team as a Vegetation Maintenance Officer. In this hands-on operational role, you will be responsible for maintaining vegetation assets throughout Lake Macquarie.

Your key focus areas will be:
- Carry out a variety of tasks associated with vegetation maintenance, including the operation and minor maintenance of plant and equipment
- Ensure a high level of customer service in all dealings with customers and stakeholders
- When required, lead a small team in the delivery of vegetation maintenance activities. This includes supervising staff and associated resources and maintaining appropriate work records
- Ensure that all activities including plant operation are undertaken to the required legislative standards, practices and standard operating procedures, including WH&S and environmental controls
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing improvement in operations and promote Council in a positive way
The position may require:
- Weekend work
- Travel and/or work across multiple sites

- Demonstrated interest or industry experience in vegetation maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties in a reliable and enthusiastic manner

- Demonstrated commitment to providing high level customer service
- General Construction Induction Training Card recognised by Safe Work NSW
- Current drivers licence
