THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $78,564 - $111,391 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT (1 position available).
Location: Moorabbin & Chadstone campuses.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of appointment with a 6-month qualifying period.

The Department of Computing and Information Technology is currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to effectively design and teach theoretical and practical sessions, to students in Computing and Information Technology program.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills:

Develop and deliver engaging and effective IT training programs covering:

  • Front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js
  • Back-end development: Node.js and Express.js
  • Basic Database Design: MongoDB or a SQL solution (e.g. MySQL).
  • Create comprehensive training materials, including lesson plans, exercises, and assessments.
  • Patiently and effectively deliver and explain complex technical concepts to learners with varying levels of prior experience.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback in a supportive and encouraging manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in the relevant technologies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure the smooth delivery of training programs.

ABOUT YOU

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40122 or equivalent predecessor or successor qualifications.
  • An approved degree or diploma in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed.
  • Experience as a teacher of vocational and/or higher education and training programs in technology, information, and computing fields is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in innovative course design and development in the context of flexible learning environments.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with students, relevant stakeholders, and professionals in the field of information technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, as required by Institute policy, rules, procedures and guidelines.
