Alltruck Bodies is a successful Australian Manufacturer of rigid trucks bodies. Alltruck Bodies is continuing to grow at a rapid rate. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our busy Manufacturing team. The key purpose of this position is to ensure the Manufacturing Plants operate efficiently, with minimal disruptions in order to maintain production levels.

This role will initiate, implement and manage a preventative maintenance program based on best practices in the industry, with an emphasis on optimising these works in conjunction with the operations.

The key duties of this position will include the following:

• Assess breakdowns and ensure repairs are performed in a timely manner
• Schedule work tasks for the maintenance of all plant and equipment
• Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, supplies and equipment and initiate reordering when required
• Ensure critical parts are available and ready when needed. Adequate stock must be kept.
• Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all plant and critical parts
• Prepare reports, analyse data and make recommendations for improving the systems performance and operation and solving maintenance related problems
• Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
• Calibrate machinery and instruments as required
• Assist in identifying solutions to safety issues
• Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and / or reduce operating costs
• Assists in projects for the site including health and safety improvements and opportunities with plant and machinery
• Assists and coordinates with the implementation of any new machinery on site and helps to manage the project with key stakeholders

To be considered for this role, you must have demonstrated experience in a Maintenance Manager role, demonstrate strong management skills in a similar manufacturing environment. Having a background of being a Maintenance Fitter will be highly regarded.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• Electricians Licence (A Grade)
• Excellent planning, organisational and leadership skills
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Effective communication & interpersonal skills
• Technical knowledge of building material manufacturing is preferred but not essential
• A strong ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specifications
• 5+ years of experience in maintenance management in manufacturing
